Insanity Max: 30

nsanity Max: 30 is about to launch! TOMORROW (December 2nd) is the official launch date!!!! I'm so excited for you all to experience the newest Shaun T fitness program! So let me give you all the deets on the program and what you can expect!

Shaun T is the creator of Hip Hop Abs, Rockin Body, Insanity, Insanity the Asylum, T25 and now Insanity Max30. He has been creating amazing fitness programs that truly work and get you the results you are looking for! I started my journey with Insanity last year and I have been a Shaun T fan ever since. His energy is CONTAGIOUS and anything he produces is sure to present KILLER results!!

Insanity Max 30 is full of 150 new moves to help you dig a little deeper and get your body in the very best shape of your life. This workout combines cardio and strength moves without using any equipment at all. Your body is your equipment for this workout! Trust me that is all you need! The program is 60 days long and is broken down into month 1 and month 2. The workouts are all 30 minutes each with a 10 minute ab workout. The idea of this program is not to make it through the entire 30 minutes, but to "MAX OUT" and go as hard as you can until you have to take a break! You want to max out, it's not a bad thing. You actually track your daily progress by your Max Out times and aim to increase that time with each workout. Cool, huh?

Who is Insanity Max30 for? It is for anyone that is a fitness beginner who wants to jump start their journey with an insane workout (it does have a modifier), a T25 graduate ready for a harder challenge, or an Insanity grad looking to take it to the next level! If you're a runner, this program is awesome for you, too! Talk about kicking your butt all the way to increased endurance!

So you can the person wanting to lose 5lbs, 10lbs, 50 or 100 lbs. This workout is for you if you are mentally strong and ready to rock it. That's right, your mind is going to power your body through this one!

What is Maxing out? To Max Out means to stop or fail for the first time in the workout. It's really truly not about getting through all 30 minutes. It's about going as hard as you can for as long as you can, until you MAX OUT. Write down the time you take a break, and then you want to jump back into the workout. If you stay committed and push to your max you will add more time each week with the workouts!

Meal Plan: Flexible eating and portion control. Portion control is amazing. It's the most important thing you can do to get even better results. If you manage your portions you can eat again sooner! Pan Seared Brussels with Cranberries and Pecans-- Recipe

I've been in a rut lately. My husband is gone a ton and it's affecting my mood, which is in turn affecting the way that I eat and workout. Instead of falling back into old habits I'm trying really hard to stay strong and move forward, one day at a time!

Debating starting a PiYo-T25 hybrid, doing a mix of the two workouts. Stay tuned ;)

Last night I decided to try something a little different for dinner. Do you ever just feel so sick of eating the same old food over and over?! I do. I really enjoy food, but hate cooking...so on the rare occasion I do actually feel like cooking something different, I run with it. Here is one of the sides we had last night.

PAN-SEARED BRUSSELS SPROUTS WITH CRANBERRIES & PECANS

INGREDIENTS:

1 pound brussels sprouts, de-stemed and halved

2/3 cup fresh cranberries

1/3 cup gorgonzola cheese, crumbled

1/3 cup pecans

1/2 cup barley

1 tablespoon maple syrup

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Olive oil

Salt & pepper

*I omitted the barley. Also, I think this would taste equally delicious with feta cheese if you're not a fan of gorgonzola!

Prepare barley according to package instructions. Heat brussels sprouts, cranberries, and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season with salt & pepper. Cook for 8-10 minutes, then add balsamic vinegar and maple syrup. Stir to coat then remove from heat. Let brussels & cranberries cool for a few minutes, then toss in a large bowl with remaining ingredients.

And voila! Easy, tasty, and oh so pretty! Perfect for a healthy Thanksgiving side dish!!

yummy stew recipe!

good morning from California! the rest of you are experiencing fall-- colorful leaves, and crisp cool air, and maybe even frost on the ground. but here it's still sunny & warm (I'm not complaining), and doesn't feel like fall at all. so I decided to make a stew in hopes that it would make it sort of seem like fall was visiting so cal for a few days ;) the best part? my husband was out of town, so this stew lasted us for five days. that's right, we had this for dinner five nights in a row and loved it each time!

*Slow Cooker Sweet Potato, Chicken, & Quinoa Soup* via Chelsea's messy apron

1 1/2 pounds chicken breasts, boneless & skinless 1 can black beans 1 can tomatoes, petite 1 tsp garlic 2 large sweet potatoes 5 cups chicken broth 1 cup quinoa 1 packet chili seasoning mix

Just throw everything into your crockpot and let it cook on low heat for about 3-4 hours! Super easy and super delicious!!

new Shakeology recipe, new Challenge Group!

Happy Monday! I hope all of you are having a fabulous start to your week!! It's fall...and we all know what that means...PUMPKIN! Everywhere! Instead of jumping on the Starbucks pumpkin latte craze and costing myself hundreds of calories and too many dollars, I decided to create a healthier pumpkin treat :) PUMPKIN SPICE CHAI 1 cup of cold chai splash of unsweetened vanilla almond milk 3 tbs of pumpkin squirt of vanilla extract a dash of pumpkin spice 6 ice cubes **blend and ENJOY!**
I ALSO have a new Challenge Group starting November 3! I'm so excited about this! I LOVE helping my Challengers, and the support that I get from them is equally awesome. There are so many times I would have SKIPPED a workout if it weren't for them holding me accountable!

Apple Pie Shakeology & New Coach Training!!

Happy Friday!! Fridays don't really mean much when you're a mom and your husband is out of town, but there's still something nice about the weekend, isn't there? ;) We were out on a field trip all morning so I didn't eat a good lunch. When I got home I was excited to try out a new Shakeology recipe! I normally drink Vegan Chocolate ShakeO but decided to mix it up today! I was in the mood for some apple pie! ;) 1 scoop vanilla ShakeO 1 cup preferred liquid (I used half almond milk half water) 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce 1/2 tsp cinnamon 6-8 ice cubes Voila!! Blend and enjoy!
If you try it let me know what you think!! There's just something about fall that makes me think of apples and cinnamon! Remember to stay consistent with your healthy eating and workouts through the weekend! I know it's so tempting to take time off, but it's really important to stick with your routine. I know personally if I go more than one or two days without exercise I start to really get into a funk! Shakeology: My Flu Shot Alternative and Immune System Booster!
